The Queen’s

Platinum Jubilee 2022

Events in Killearn

THANK YOU

Thank you to all the organisations and people that made the Jubilee holiday such a success.

From the golden coach making its way from the school to the hall accompanied by the children who made it happen to the last of the parties taking place around the village, it was a time to remember. Who can forget the dying beacon competing with a glorious sunset, the surprise visitor to the phone box, as well as the 10K and the beer festival returning after their enforced absence.

Now tell us how you celebrated the Jubilee. Email your photographs and stories to jubilee@kcfc.co.uk or to our Facebook page, and they may appear in the next Killearn Courier or be recorded for posterity in the Time Capsule.

REMEMBERING THE JUBILEE

The Queen’s Green Canopy is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

Later in the year there are plans to plant two commemorative trees in Killearn, as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, in both Well Green and the Kirk grounds. At that time we will also be burying a Time Capsule which will include images and memories of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration from this June.

Submit photos to be a part of the Village Memory by email to jubilee@kcfc.co.uk or to Facebook.
